Mad Men season 5 dresses from amctv.com

Mad Men fashion is so gorgeous. I enjoy admiring the outfits used in the AMC series. Women dressed so glamorously back in the 1960′s. I just read that for Season 6 they will be heading to Hawaii. Vintage Hawaiian dresses are the best so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the new episodes. I want to share with you a video I found on the official AMC website where Janie Bryant talks about the wardrobe they design and the process of getting the right look for the women in the show.

At our Sweet Vintage Lady Store we have some Mad Men fashion available. We just listed on Etsy a classic wiggle dress, a slouchy cocktail dress and a beautiful Borella black coat. These vintage pieces are from the 1950′s to early 1960′s period and are so Mad Men. Here is a glimpse at some of the items. You can find these and more unique vintage fashion at our online shop located at etsy.com/sweetvintagelady

Introducing Emma

Posted by on Oct 4, 2012 in Uncategorized | 1 comment

Introducing Emma! Our newest model is here. We are so excited to give our Sweet Vintage Lady Store a new look with beautiful Emma. She is just a cutie and we want everyone to learn more about her. Here is a short and informal interview we conducted (we really do know she’s not real):

Emma

Emma

What are your measurements?

32-25-35.  I am a 6 feet tall. Can you believe that? My height only gives me trouble when I’m trying to find a dancing partner to do the Salsa.

Where were you born?

I was born in Puerto Rico so I have some Caribbean flavor. I am a mix of many ethnic backgrounds. That’s why I have this olive skin tone.

What is your favorite fashion decade?

I love, love the 80′s. It is such a cool decade. Spandex, neon, big hair and shoulder pads… and the teen movies OMG!!! I do like my flat ironed straight hair now though. :)

How did you get into vintage fashion modeling?

I was in San Francisco and was recruited to come to Florida by a small agency. I am glad to be in Central Florida now as the weather is warmer here (but humidity is killing my hair). I am looking forward to visiting Disney to see Mickey.

What do you like most about your job?

I truly enjoy bringing a great visual of how clothes would look on potential customers. I feel that I can help tons of friends to shop for unique vintage fashion. That is what makes my job so special. Plus I get to try on tons of clothes.

When you are not modeling what do you do?

I enjoy the beach (Florida is the perfect place for me), reading (I am hooked to my iPad), and traveling. I also love to go thrifting to find amazing clothes for me.

Do you have any additional thoughts to share?

I am so excited to be the new face of Sweet Vintage Lady Shop on Etsy. I can’t wait to model all the amazing pieces they have. Please visit our online Shop located at etsy.com/shop/Sweetvintangelady  XOXO, Emma

Welcome Emma to our Sweet Vintage Lady Shop!

Carmen Miranda

Carmen Miranda was an icon of the forties decade. Everyone is familiar with her exotic and vibrant outfits. She brought flavor to the Old Hollywood scene. Born in Portugal and raised in Brazil, she began her career as a Samba singer in Brazil. She appeared in many Hollywood movies. At some point she became the highest paid entertainer in Hollywood. How amazing is that! With her looks and talent she won the hearts of many. Viva Carmen Miranda!
